What does it mean to be an artist?
Come join us for a four-day weekend workshop, from Wednesday evening June 29 to Sunday afternoon July 3. You will be engaged in the workshop of your choice for seven three-hour sessions.
We are a group of professionals who have worked in depth, each in our own field. Some of us are teachers, all of us explorers. We all have questions: How to approach the blank page, the lump of clay, the human body, the human voice, the delicate silk, the pliable reed, the empty space? What are we trying? How might we live our professional lives more fully every day? What are the distinctions between art and craft?
To expand our investigation in a practical way we decided to offer weekend workshops at the Lake Conference Center, a quiet retreat in a beautiful setting where students of all levels can explore art and craft.
Beginners and experienced artists can share in this search for the underlying source of the artistic process. As we use the human body, mind and feelings to transform material, we discover a new potential, a new freedom and a new joy.
We look forward to exploring with you in action and discussion.
